JUAN SIMON CALLE

Product Development Engineer Spatial Audio Sound Designer
I am a Technical Sound Designer. I live and breathe Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs) and I am passionate about driving innovation and making a significant impact on the future of consumer products. When I have an idea, I can prototype it and demonstrate it effectively. My skill set includes Python, C#, and years of experience as a musician.
During my time at NYU, I served as the leader of the Immersive Audio Group at Steinhardt. There, I honed my expertise in programming Mixed Reality experiences using Unity. From sound design to data collection for audio research, I successfully integrated ambisonics and binaural techniques into immersive musical experiences for live captures in Mixed Reality.
Throughout my professional journey, I have conducted extensive research on topics such as the personalization of Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs), their practical applications in real-world scenarios, and the implementation of spatial audio formats like MPEG-H in gaming, broadcasting, and other consumer audio sectors. I frequently share my knowledge and insights as a speaker at prestigious conferences such as the Audio Engineering Society conventions and GameSoundCon, where I delve into the latest trends in spatial audio research for future technologies.
